This a totally unique experience. It is inadequate to call Seven Terraces a 'hotel'. It is so much more. It is really a trip into the past, to experience a sample of Penang Nyonya culture, but with all the modern conveniences we need for our comfort nowadays. All the furnishings, the layout, the design, everything shows great care and attention to detail, recreating a space that truly feels unique and authentic. The evening dinner in the Kebaya restaurant was equally amazing. The choice of food on the menu and the methods of preparation were truly tempting and really delicious. I can recommend the Satay starter, also the Rendang Croque Monsieur. For the main course, the Prawn Geng was delicious, and the Hong Bak Lamb shank was 'melt in the mouth'. The grilled eggplant was my favourite vegetable. They offered a 'side dish' of Soft Shell Crab which we tried. We all thought it was the best dish of all, and deserving of more than just 'side dish' status! The service at the meal was very good, and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. Mr.Omar at the front desk was especially accomodating to our requests. We will definitely be back in future.

Seven Terraces was quite a special place to stay. The heritage vibe is quite lovely but it wouldn't mean much without the staff - everyone was so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was the terraced duplex suite, Stewart St side, bed downstairs, living room and single bed upstairs. It's a luxurious space to retreat to in the hottest part of the day - and a pool downstairs with free tea and snacks in mid afternoon. The hotel has done a fantastic job of updating the rooms with mod cons (including two aircon units, multi plug and USB sockets) while preserving the old world charm. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the old town - a short walk to so many delicious restaurants Including the hotel's restaurant Kebaya) and an easy Grab ride everywhere else. I was concerned the room might get a bit loud, being on the Stewart St side with an open air bar around the corner, but there's wooden shutters and then doors between the bathroom and the bed and it was all surprisingly quiet. I even fell asleep in the middle of fireworks.

This is a beautifully rebuilt/renovated property by Mr Chris Ong who had the taste & wisdom to transform these Terraced shop houses into superb boutique hotel accommodation, whilst retaining the historic details & furnishing them with the appropriate antique furniture & decor. I love the fact that he wants his collection of antiques to be used & not stuck behind ropes & glass in a museum setting. The staff & level of service were excellent & I particularly liked having the complimentary afternoon tea relaxing near the pool. Breakfast was good & having a coffee pod machine in the room was a winner too (the staff supplied us with a teapot of milk at our request & refreshed it daily without prompting.) The room was large & comfortable (duplex suite with bedroom upstairs) great idea to have an extra toilet & wash basin upstairs (on enclosed section of balcony) I could go on & on…

Hotel is located in a quiet back alley steps away from hustle and bustle of Chulia Street, one block away from Little India. Beautiful, traditional Chinese interior design, furniture and room decor. Inside the rooms all modern conveniences including well functioning AC, Wi-Fi, TV, refrigerator and safe. Charming, helpful staff that greet and bid farewell to guests outside the front door. Quick help with luggage and efficient room cleaning. Daily snacks and tea at poolside at 3pm. Top-notch Kebaya restaurant on premises (advance reservations needed for dinner). Breakfast is served a la carte in one of the beautifully decorated rooms downstairs. Special thanks go to Nurul for her smiling face and for professional attention to all our needs.

Had a lovely stay at 7 terraces. It's in a nice location to walk around Georgetown. The room was beautifully restored and had all the facilities you'd need - comfy beds and even a nesspreso machine. There is a nice pool area too. The staff were very helpful when we needed a trip to a doctor. They showed great kindness that was very appreciated. We stayed in one of the apartments with 4 adults- there was a double and 2 single beds (upstairs) it was spacious and comfortable with a nice little roof terrace. Sometimes these kinds of places can feel a little stuffy, but not here. The staff were so friendly. It has a lift to the 2nd floor - but be mindful there are steps here and there due to the age of the property.
